I can't, of course, speak for With Enterprises. But this is what I gathered
from the discussions regarding "marketing":

- there won't be huge advertisment campaigns or budgets. no $70,000
double-page adds or the like.

- apparently, much marketing is supposed to be "done" by the community, i.e.
the community is expected to be more vocal about Witango accomplishments.
This may include "powered by Witango" buttons on web sites, mentioning
Witango in product whitepapers and concepts, and including "Witango" on
product sheets, marketing papers etc.. Don't forget to include "Witango"
whenever a newspaper or magazine writes a feature story about a project you
concluded. You get the idea.

- subversive marketing ("Trojan horse"): build a larger Witango user base by
supporting schools, universities and non-profits by special discounts on the
software.

- more regular Witango developers and business conferences; e.g. there's one
planned for June or July in Europe (Luxemburg) IIRC.

Have I forgotten to mention something?

much the same here. But we're working on it. :) This is what we'll do in the
next couple of weeks:

- strategic partnerships with other developers and European distributor
Softdes,

- including a "technology" page on www.esitebuilder.net as well as on our
company homepage (which is undergoing a heavy redesign anyway),

- we'll participate in above mentioned European conference.

I hope I'm not too wrong with this list here. Please feel free to comment
and add points I might have forgotten.

I am sure that Sophie and Phil, as well as the distributors, will do a
tremendous job with their own marketing activities, as it is pretty simple:
people have to hear about Witango before we developers show up on their
doorsteps. The reply "are you talking about dancing?" is getting old.

hope this helps,
-Sascha.rb
