I just got the cgi to respond and I logged into config.taf, so I guess it 
puts me in the same spot you started this thread -- trying to get the 
"plug-in" to work.

I don't know anything about RedHat Linux, though.  It seems to me that 
the library issue is germane, but I never got a good answer as to 
requirements when I first inquired about the v5 linux beta.

I think you should be okay if you install from an rpm, since it is 
supposed to validate the prerequisites.
