Ian,

I set up a Witango-driven FTP process that creates a batch file and executes it with the command line.  I use a cron file to schedule it.  It goes out to an external server, checks if a file exists on the server, and transfers it if found.  It could also go the other way (Internal to external).   The whole thing was pretty easy to set up using WS_FTP Pro from Ipswitch.

Subject: Witango-Talk: OT: Looking For Command Line FTP that Supports Passive Mode

Hey Gang:

Does anyone know of a command-line ftp utility that supports passive mode and can automatically run a text file (containing ftp commands) after it starts up?   We're looking to automatically ftp a file from one server to another.

We do know of an FTP commandline client (ftp.exe) that ships with Windows but it does not support passive mode (however, it can automatically run the text file after startup via the -s option though).

Some command line FTP links of interest are:

Thanks in advance ....

Ian
