Hi Dan,

Converting an Access database to SQL Server is the easy part (can't speak
for MySQL :-P).

The time consuming part will be the ASP code.

Obviously the database connection strings will be different, then the ADO
Recordsets in ASP. Their behavior may change with the upgrade.

Some SQL statements may likely change from Access to SQL. It depends on how
complex the application logic is I guess. Potentially this could lead to a
nightmare job. Don't assume it's going to be a walk in the park.

Now, of course if they are considering upgrading their application to SQL
Server - your client should consider the justification of continuing to
support ASP.

With ASP.NET now the defacto standard for Microsoft Web Application
development - "classic" ASP has a limited life.

If your client is considering an upgrade, then they should be considering a
complete upgrade away from ASP as well. You'll score points by bringing this
to their attention.

Either your client is .NET capable (skill level high), or they're just
fishing in the dark for a solution (skill level low) - in which case, this
maybe your opportunity to push Witango.

Best of luck....
