“PhP is a long learning curve”
if you have never done any thing coding but Witango, the documentation for PHP
online is amazing within a few seconds I have my thought presented in code
based examples. We are all dealing with the same concepts so if you I need to
learn bout PHP binding, it is there. “Compared to Cold Fusion, Cold
Fusion beats it hands down in performance” I would like to see a real
world test on that. I have worked and programmed with Both
MySql and MS Sql Server, and I have also worked with Robert with an image
database that would have sent MS Sql Server over the edge. (let me qualify
that, to handle a database this size MS recommends a cluster) This is running
on 1 server and is handling millions of requests and searches. I know MS claims
to win the TPS but those transactions are (or at least last I checked) dealing
with 100 char transaction and who of us has 1 million$ to chunk down on the

isn’t powerful at all. Many sites use it because it’s free. Coding
takes forever, and it’s a scripting engine that parses script, then
executes it. Compared to Cold Fusion, Cold Fusion beats
it hands down in performance and time it takes to code. Cold Fusion has
superior XML integration, and OS integration. Anyone looking at a second
programming language should look at Cold Fusion. It’s a much easier
learning curve than PhP. MySQL has come a long way, but is still
not a good platform for enterprise applications. Microsoft SQL server 2005 ties
into Windows server 2003, and is the fastest database on windows. If you’re
into Linux, Pervasive is 30% faster than MySQL. And, Pervasive has a free open
