I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing, but I have seen Firefox ignore the selected option in a drop down list, when doing a refresh on the page. (while testing a new form)  It almost seems like sometimes the value that was selected in the form before the refresh takes precedence over what is specified when the html is loaded.  I have not taken the time to reproduce this step by step, but let me say that I have noticed strange goings on in this department many times since i started using FF during all my functionality testing.  I've never made a big deal about it though because it's not something that really happens when using the site, just when testing something over and over again.
