Steve, The version 6 dev studio will be released with the version 6 server which is still several months away. We are just tidying up some show stopping issues we have found during the private beta of a 5.75 release.  Once they are fixed a public beta will get underway. This has been a complete rewrite and I am sure that none of you would like the new dev studio to corrupt your files in any way.  We are just being over cautious with this beta as we have seen betas used in production environments in the past.  As soon as we have all the private beta testers ready to move from the old 5.5 version for the new version the public beta will start.
