Since it is start of summer them, they are probably on Holiday, sunning themselves with the crocs ;-)

I have heard from reliable source it is not EOL of the release of 5.5 beta and 6 are forthcoming. That said it would seem that the community is way way overdue for an update.

Subject: Re: Witango-Talk: Studio Beta?

Is Witango EOL??

Having been the 'list-Mom' for Tango-Talk myself for many years, I can understand that it can be difficult to respond to every message.

However when the user community asks for some information about upcoming releases, and the message is ignored for 2 weeks, it doesn't really send out a comforting message.

I've got some business decisions to make, and I would like to make them rationally. Without any response, can I make the assumption that there is no release in the works? Is 5.5 the last release we are going to see?

I hope someone at Witango is reading the list and can provide some kind of answer.

Thank you,

Steve Smith

Steve,
The version 6 dev studio will be released with the version 6 server which is still several months away.

We are just tidying up some show stopping issues we have found during the private beta of a 5.75 release. Once they are fixed a public beta will get underway.

This has been a complete rewrite and I am sure that none of you would like the new dev studio to corrupt your files in any way. We are just being over cautious with this beta as we have seen betas used in production environments in the past. As soon as we have all the private beta testers ready to move from the old 5.5 version for the new version the public beta will start.

Phil

Was there a response to this post that I missed?

I had sent a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] a month or more ago, asking about purchasing a new Dev Studio. I am currently licensed for 5.0 but with purchasing a new Mac I can't install it due to changes in the Apple Installer. It was suggested that I wait until 6 rather than paying the upgrade cost twice but I'm getting a little tired of waiting.

I did not receive any response from Witango.

Has anyone heard of any news on this?

Hi Phil,

I was wondering if there was a new estimate as to when the
new studio beta would be released. I know that you said not to hold
you to the end of March release date, and I don't. I'm not upset
about the release slipping. That's par for the course, as we all
know, with software. I was just wondering if you had a new sense
as to when it might be ready?

 Thanks,
 Stefan
