Hi Wayne, There is more involved in a blog than just posting stories and accepting visitor comments. It has to support XML data that is both outgoing (feeds, comments and directories) and incoming (trackbacks), and the "standard" for the XML is constantly evolving, so as a developer you have to be prepared to keep up. Not to mention there is more than one standard, i.e., RSS and Atom.
I built my own Blog a few years ago, in ASP.NET, but I gave it up eventually because I couldn't spare the time to keep modifying the XML to stay "hip". As well as other evolving features common to blogs. Then I switched to hosting other open-source systems on my own Server by trying out .Text, dasBlog and CommunityServer.org, but then the constant updates became just too much maintenance. Now I use http://www.typepad.com/ for my main site (link below) and they do all the work of keeping up with the standards, and I just do the posting :-) Maybe if somebody is paying you to do the upkeep, than the extra work is okay, but I'm a contractor. Good luck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scott Cadillac, Xmlx Software [EMAIL PROTECTED] (403) 254-5002 http://www.xmlx.net/ XML-Extranet P.O.
