Mikal,
UTF-8 is preferred when supporting multiple languages, and Witango will transition to it as soon as possible. This change will, however, not be backwards compatible with previous versions of Witango. We feel at this time that it is very important to support full backwards compatibility. I will introduce some helpful Meta Tags and utilities to assist in the short-term. I am also planning to build multi-lingual versions of the Witango platform in the future. In the meantime, Witango 6 will operate exactly like Witango 5.5 in this respect. So whatever limitations and/or workarounds you may have, will remain. But one of my devs do maintain them. I will have to review some of our code. One thing that comes to mind, is text encoding. This was a mess before, and we had to do many workarounds dealing with text encoding. Does witango 6 deal with text encoding differently then 5.5? --  Robert Garcia President - BigHead Technology VP Application Development - eventpix.com 15520 Coutelenc Rd Magalia, Ca 95954 ph: 530.645.4040 x222 fax: 530.645.4040 [email protected] - [email protected] http://bighead.net/ - http://eventpix.com/  On Nov 30, 2010, at 6:15 PM, Robert Shubert wrote: Robert,  This is the What’s New for version 6:  http://www.witango.com/products/whatsnew  Are there any specific issues or bugs you have in mind?  Robert  From: Robert Garcia [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 30, 2010 8:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Witango-Talk: Witango 6 for Windows released  Is there a "release notes" for version 6? I would like to see exactly which bugs have been fixed and such. A lot of our code uses special workarounds for certain witango bugs in 5.5, and I would like to review.  Any early adopters out there want to share their 5.5 to 6 upgrade experiences would also be helpful. --  Robert Garcia President - BigHead Technology VP Application Development - eventpix.com 15520 Coutelenc Rd Magalia, Ca 95954 ph: 530.645.4040 x222 fax: 530.645.4040 [email protected] - [email protected] http://bighead.net/ - http://eventpix.com/  On Nov 30, 2010, at 12:09 PM, Witango Support wrote: We are pleased to announce the release of Witango 6 for the Windows platform.  We are currently fulfilling pre-orders for Windows products, so if you placed a pre-order you will be receiving an email confirming that your order has been processed, and the licenses will be available in your account at <http://www.witango.com/> www.witango.com. Installers are available in the Downloads <http://www.witango.com/downloads>  section of the website.
