Hi Blair,

two problems about the pull-request:

a.) an administrative one: I have not signed the assignment stuff yet which I
want to do
as soon as possible since I told Rob that I'd want to contribute an extension
to install
software-only (non-pnp) drivers to get rid of my existing CA-dll which is a
pain in terms
of taking into account all the various states like install, uninstall, repair
and rollback...

But I suppose that might take a couple of days and as 3.8 is moving toward
completion
that might be too late...

b.) I must admit to my shame that I have not used GIT so far ( SVN all the way
currently ;-)
But I will be looking into the intricate details for further WIX contribution -
anyone has got
a good idea what client to use on Windows? I'm currently using TortoiseSVN
(and Eclipse
SVN integration)

So if someone who does not have my two current "impediments" could take my
proposal
and integrate it "in spirit" I'd be totally grateful :-)

Tobias

twice (on Windows XP) if bootstrapper contains driver-installation

It doesn't matter so much because even if it lies it will still give a
different answer between XP (and downlevel) and Vista (and uplevel) even if we
get behind in the manifests.

Tobias, I vote you put together a pull request for 3.8 soon.

Hi Bob,

would it possible for you to incorporate my proposed changes in the next RC of
3.8?

I think the changes are not that "severe" and will fix the problem with using
driver-installs
in burn on Windows XP. For all other OS-versions nothing will change...

Best regards,
Tobias
