thanks for the info. Actually I could not add my new commits to the
pull-request, I always
got an error-message from codeplex.
So I cancelled the old and issued a new pull-request.
My last change was to allow for conditional compile of the fix for the Windows
XP driver-install-issue.
The reasoning behind this was the following: I see that there might be fear
for regression.
One solution for this might be to add a new target for the build-script that
creates a
"burn_windows_xp_drivers.exe" which could be shipped in the 3.8 installer under
bin\x86
as an alternative for all people that are currently "bitten" by this issue.
This way someone can just rename the alternative burn_xxx.exe and use this fix
without
compromising backward compatiblity for all other users...
Would that approach seem reasonable?

Tobias: you can either add the additional changes to your current pull request,
or you could cancel the request and resubmit it. If you don't do either, the
changes won't show up.
