Is this something I could help with somehow?
Hi Jason,
sorry for the delay.
Feel free to make what do you like to do. There are many work.
Some things to do:
- Test the debian packages
- Try to solve some lintian problems
- But at http://www.bebt.de/tmp/wmaker-imported-debian-patches/ are
many ideas. Test it if are non-debian specific create a patch for the
upstream version, but if is debian specific create a debian/patch
file
with the patch. We cannot use these patches because they modify the
upstream version, and probably some of them are debian-specific
- ...
To avoid two or more people working in the same problem, post it what
will you do.
Thanks for your help.
Best,
kix.

Ah!
and check the debian bugs to identify:
a) the bug is now solved
b) the bug is not solved, is debian specific, create a debian/patch
c) the bug is not solved, is not debian specific, create a git patch
Probably, the bugs are in a) and perhaps something in c)
We can use debian/changelog to log it (with [Close: #bugnumber]
