Promising, but unfortunately it doesn't support mobile broadband yet, which was an issue for me when deciding what to do about this. I had a usb surfstick which I used very frequently. I had a script using comgt and later I used umstmon, but neither was good enough. nm-applet did the job for wonderfully. Does it pull too many libs? Whatever. I don't care all that much, as long as it gets the job done and I don't have to worry about such a trivial thing.
