I think Fvwm or Fvwm2 had something similar. But
this would not be a good fit for Window Maker
which has separate workspaces that are linear
(next to each other) not a big virtual workspace
for which the display is a view. (So you cannot
have a window on two workspaces for example.)
Weeell, if there can't be anything better in
wmaker than a set of workspaces, separated with
impenetrable borders from each other, then the
whole discussion is somewhat pointless.
Knowing wmaker only superficially, I was sort of
hoping something like Xview pager is
implementable fairly easily.
