Cool, thanks. I'm not sure of the design philosophy there, but it seems a shame that it doesn't just work. On a side note, I tried building the most recent gnustep environment and ran into failures, once I satisfied its build dependencies. I filed a bug report, but I guess I'm stuck with what's in debian stable for now. Mike
