Yes, I've already been informed of this, and I'm sorry. I haven't looked into this issue for some time, and I'd forgotten what POSIX specified (it specifies a lot). As for the Plan 9 version, I was certain that it didn't present a -u option, but that's perhaps because it is in a different section from the rest of the options. At any rate, I prefer sort | uniq.
