http://www.suckless.org/download/dmenu-2.7.tar.gz http://www.suckless.org/download/slock-0.5.tar.gz Both tools now grab the keyboard on its window now and not on the root window anymore. dmenu also some drawing changes which make lower noise on the Xlib side.
