For me it works, but I have Mod4 bound to the right "Ctrl" key, my
keyboard doesn't have Windows keys:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat ~/.Xmodmap | egrep "mod4|Super"
  keycode 109 = Super_L Super_R
  clear mod4
  add mod4 = Super_L Super_R
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

With this settings, and 'test -s ~/.Xmodmap && xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap' in my
~/.xession and 'MODKEY=Mod4' in ~/.wmii-3.5/wmiirc my right Ctrl-key
acts as the WMII modifier, and the Alt key is not, and is free for other
uses, as accessing menus and options in GTK+ programs.

how can i know which key is "Mod4" and which key is "Super_L" etc. any
commands for it ? (BTW, i have 2 windows keys one on LHS (Left Hand
Side) and other on RHS)
