Scott,
I will help with the barcamp stuff, no problem there.
With respect to Getting the conference commuter involved they already
are since I'm a member of ConCom and my focus is on the creation of
smaller events. To be able to use the Apache brand we need approval
from ConCom (note Sylvain's comments too). Don't worry it's a
lightweight process for these kinds of events. More details when I'm
on a proper keyboard.
Finally on a related topic I'm looking at putting a Shindig/Project
SocialSite/Wookie meetup together at Apachecon. Who on this list will
be there?

Hi everyone,
JISC (UK university funding agency) are organising a one day "Widgets
Barcamp" in October for developers to create new W3C Widgets.
Apache Wookie
will feature heavily as the platform used at the event, and I'll be
going
along as a facilitator/speaker. It's currently pencilled in for
12th October
in London; I'll put up more details when they're confirmed.
Here's the question for mentors - one of the organisers has asked
me whether
it would be appropriate to jointly badge the event as an "JISC/Apache
Wookie" barcamp. How would this sit with the use of the Apache brand?
I think Ross would be able to give specific details as he recently
organized a BarCamp, but in order to make an event to use the Apache
brand, you will need to contact the [email protected] mailing list with a
proposal and make sure they agree and allow the Apache brand to be
used.
