In order to draw up the charter we need a PMC chair. So this is a call for nominations for that chair. People can self nominate if they want to.
The role of chair is an important one but not one that carries any additional "power". The chair reports to the board on behalf of the project. They are required to submit board reports quarterly (almost identical to the IPMC reports), but those reports should be representative of the communities views. If there are any community issues that need to be addressed the chair is responsible for making sure they get addressed (which is not necessarily the same as actually addressing them). If the board has concerns it will be the chair that they will look to. Legally the chair is an office of the foundation (Vice President of Wookie in this case, a pretty cool title, but not half as good as the Rave title would have been if they'd stuck with Awesome as a project name ;-). Given that outline I invite any questions about the role. I will start a separate thread for actual nominations.
