Follow-up Comment #1, task #5675 (project wormux):

Well, I was thinking about switching over opengl but just as an alternative
driver.

To be honest, I don't see a good way to do this kind of thing without a major
rewrite of the game using opengl but maybe I'm wrong. And to be honest, we've
got already a huge number of work in the pipeline (ground generator, new
rope/new physical engine, network etc, new menu).

But opengl guru are welcome :)

This lead me to this question : gentildemon, kurosu, what do you think about
switching from pure SDL to OpenGL ? Nowadays, hardware opengl is no more a
big issue under Linux. Any thought/comment ?
