Hello, I think harmonization is good, as far as it does not conflict with localisation. The german locale Site de.wordpress.org uses the country name, because there are (or could be) other localisations in the same language (german) from other countries (i.e. Austria, Switzerland). If the site title were "German", this would be missleading. On the other side, the catalan locale Site uses the language name, because this is the localisation for all catalan speaking countries (including Spain, France, Andorra and Italy), there would never be another catalan locale. There is a big difference between a language such as German with 100 Million native speakers and a language such as Catalan with under 10 Million native speakers. I think this difference at the site title is correct.

I for one am +1 on the use of local wording. But how about agreeing on either language or country/region? If possible, of course. That is, should it be "WordPress | Deutsch" or "WordPress | Deutschland", "WordPress | Català" or "WordPress | Catalunya", "WordPress | Português Brasileiro" or "WordPress | Brasil" and so forth (sorry if I got any of those wrong, but I'm sure you get my point). In my opinion language should be the denominator as WordPress should be a global effort in different languages, not specific for different countries. If I go to wp.org, I would look for WordPress in another language than English, not for WordPress from another country or region. Whatever your stance on this, I would appreciate it if da.wordpress.org could be changed to "Dansk" instead of "WordPress DK".
