I saw one of my faves on the list.. SMEGMA! these guys are from Portland, I've seen them play many times.. have most of their cds, some are rare oldies. great people. they play the weirdest venues. lately they have David Meltzer read text along with them, but they just overpower him mercilessly and you cant hear a damn thing he says.. its a riot.. there's actually a pretty decent noise scene here, mini-festivals, multiple venue crawls sometimes.. Crash Worship was sort of my introduction to Live Noise, and I still havent seen a noise act to compare to the energy and baccanalian revelry those guys elicited.. girls ripping off their shirts people orgy-slamming in mad bundles crash worship spewing goat skins of wine over the audience.. those were good shows! http://www.geocities.com/bradleybee/smegdex1.html
