I am sick of rain! for the past 60+ days nothing but.. hey those frogs are pretty bacchic themselves, i love the pics with the giant females clustered with hundreds of tiny males..
at any rate, i think i got "orgy" from the wine skin association with our grape-hair gods.. it was a slam pit of sorts but quite a bit different from the vortex swirls like you would see at a black flag or JFK show, or the 90's variant the "mosh pit" and nothing like the new wave "pogoing" you would see at devo or b-52's.. some groups were interlinked and waving like grass to the waves of sound, others were enacting gesturalities on the fringes.. My wife and I were there handing out cards for our home-made Djellabas, but they were always too expensive, and really too odd for most americans no matter how eclectic.. we sold a few over the years.. and always got looks with them.. now, we'd probably get put in jail for wearing a djellabah! lq > very interesting, i learn, i learn, out here in the old man in the woods > listens to mainly to rain and frog songs, what have I been missing? how I > long for that good old orgy-slamming of yore... > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "phanero" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, February 04, 2006 6:15 PM > Subject: Re: M.A.N. > > >>I saw one of my faves on the list.. >> >> SMEGMA! >> >> these guys are from Portland, I've seen them play many times.. >> have most of their cds, some are rare oldies. great people. >> they play the weirdest venues. lately they have David Meltzer >> read text along with them, but they just overpower him mercilessly >> and you cant hear a damn thing he says.. its a riot.. >> >> there's actually a pretty decent noise scene here, mini-festivals, >> multiple venue crawls sometimes.. >> >> Crash Worship was sort of my introduction to Live Noise, >> and I still havent seen a noise act to compare to the energy >> and baccanalian revelry those guys elicited.. >> >> girls ripping off their shirts people orgy-slamming in mad bundles >> crash worship spewing goat skins of wine over the audience.. >> those were good shows! >> >> http://www.geocities.com/bradleybee/smegdex1.html >> >> >>>> >>> >> >
