A very perplexing problem with conflicting indicators: 1. WS_FTP accesses Linux server but fails with following message (Note: Same for passive and non-passive) connecting to nnn.nnn.nnn.nn Connected to nnn.nnn.nnn.nn 220 xxxxxxxxxx.com FTP server ready. USER jparker 331 Password required for jparker PASS(hidden) 230 User jparker logged in CWD /usr/local/apache/htdocs 250 CWD command successful. PWD ! Receive error: Blocking call cancelled
2. Using Windows DOS ftp to the same URL presents no problem logging in, it is quickly accomplished. 3. Accessing other FTP servers presents no problems for WS_FTP. 4. MATRIX Program URL 111.111.111.111 URL 222.222.222.222 WS_FTP Above error message No problem DreamWeaver FTP Error (probably Same) No problem DOS FTP No Problem No problem Program PC(WIn98) PC(NT) PC(Linux) WS_FTP Same Prob. Same Prob. xxxxx DreamWeaver FTP Same Prob. Same Prob. xxxxx DOS FTP No Problem No Problem xxxxx FTP No Problem As you can see from the Matrix, the same thing occurs on another PC, so it is not specific to any particular PC that I am using. SOooooo It is not the PC (Two PCs show same problem) It is not the OS (Two OSes show same problem) It is not unique to WS_FTP (Dreamweaver does the same thing, I think) Well, if it is not the PC, the OS, nor WS_FTP, what the heck is it? Does someone there have the answer? Sure hope so. Thanks, Jim Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
