Forgive me if you already know this.

When you change the port number on the FTP Server, users must access the site by specifying the port number in the URL.

If you are trying to connect with a browser you should use the following format:

ftp://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:port/

If you are connecting to port 21, (the default ftp port) the :port can be left off.

If you are logging in as "anonymous" the URL would be:

ftp://host.domain.com:port/

In some browsers the trailing forward slash is required.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] WS FTP Server 2.x

I have a customer who has this version and they wanted me to setup their FTP server for them. They also wanted to put it on a different port other than 21, per their home office. Anyway I've tried and can't get to work.

I've searched the net and IpSwitch site and can't find any info. I can change the FTP server port to anything I want but all users can do is logon with no list of directories. Any help would be appreciated.

Or do they need to upgrade to 3.x ?

Thanks

Tom
