One reason why would be security - with NT's FTP the username/password are
transmitted in plain text - with the WS_FTP client/server it's encrypted.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Why should I go with WS_FTP Server?

Hi all,

I have found that to get the real scope on a software solution is to join
its list ;-)

I am considering going with the server package, have been using the client
package for some time now.

I am looking for extreme configurations...
what has been pushed through this product.

Why sould I pay for an FTP Server when I got one with NT? (Ok, please don't
throw things)

Ben
