I am a new user of WS-FTP - i have been using CuteFTP untill now.
I have spent several days trying to solve my problem - and hope you can give me a helping hand. I hope you will bear over with "bad english" - in spite of my name i am a danish national - and not perfect in english.
I use FTP to backup files from my office to home - using scheduled synchronization, and a Bulletproof ftp server at home.
I have no problem uploading or downloading with WS-FTP, but Synchronisation fails every time.
The logging of the transfer shows, that WS-FTP does a correct compare of files on remote and local, stating which files are to be uploaded and which are the same on local and remote - but when transfer of files begins, a series of "CDUP"-commands are sent by WS-FTP, which sends WSFTP to the root of the remote.
Afterwards - a series of CWD commands are sent - e.g. CWD dataloen - but that directory is a subdirectory far down in the category structure, and cant be found like that.
It also tries to change to directories that only eksist on the local drive, not the remote - for instance d:\data.
I have read all manuals (they are quite "thin" i believe) - and checked the FAQ and the rest of the ressources on the Ipswitch website.

Untill recently i have been using Globalscape Cute FTP 2.0, and it has been handling synchronization just fine. I changed to WS-FTP because Cute doesnt allow synchronization settings to be saved, so after every restart you have to enter all information again..
