The log file contains a lot of information that i am "not ready to share with you" (as they say in the movies :-) ). It will take me forever to remove IP adresses and filenames, so i hope you dont mind.
The exctract i showed you is the essense - The synchronize utility seems to "loose track" of where it is in the remote directory structure.
I have sent further information to Ipswitch support today - you can read it below.
I havent tried excluding files, since i dont need this, so i cant comment on the problem mentioned on your website
__________
Yesterday i ran a synchronisation with CuteFTP - and it was a succes, approx. 0.2 gigabytes was transferred and all files were up to date.
In the properties for the remote site, i have today specified the server as BULL FTP instead of the "auto" and restarted the job. This time the synchronisation has not failed as such, but WS-FTP has deleted everything on the remote drive (!), and is now rebuilding the directory structure and transferring all files (2.5 gigabytes) - this is just an upload, not a synchronisation! It will last for about 1 day - and i will run a synchronization tommorrow and see if it repeats this procedure.
I hope you can help - i would hate to go back to using CuteFTP, because it cannot save synchronisation settings.

Hi Eric,
I am very interested to know more about your problem. The synch feature is
really important to me in keeping my web sites updated. There were problems
with previous versions and Ipswitch promises me that those problems are all
fixed in the version you are using. I have not bothered to pay for the
update and give it a try because these fixes had been promised in previous
versions too!
Could you please provide more documentation of your problem? See
http://kwebs.biz/WS_FTP-test/ I included there screen shots of the settings
to better illustrate the problem I was having. Would you be able to assemble
something like this for us? If not, could you write out all your scheduler
and synch settings for us?
I have since switched over to FTP Voyager which has really wonderful synch
and scheduler features. See http://www.ftpvoyager.com/ But I would like to
go back to WS_FTP if these problems truly have been resolved.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] WS-FTP 7.61 Synchronization problem.
I am a new user of WS-FTP - i have been using CuteFTP untill now.
I have spent several days trying to solve my problem - and hope you can give
me a helping hand. I hope you will bear over with "bad english" - in spite
of my name i am a danish national - and not perfect in english.
I use FTP to backup files from my office to home - using scheduled
synchronization, and a Bulletproof ftp server at home.
I have no problem uploading or downloading with WS-FTP, but Synchronisation
fails every time.
