At some point -- maybe between version 7 and 8 -- Ipswitch decided to store its WS_FTP site profiles in a different place. It used to be in the Program Files area, but they've moved it to Documents and Settings\[user}\Application Data\ipswitch\WS_FTP\sites, at least for WS_FTP Pro for the current user. I don't know about the 'home' version.

If more than one person will be using the PC and they all need to see the same site profiles, you'll also find a WS_FTP.ini file in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\sites that stores those. This is the set of site profiles you'll see in the "Shared Sites" folder inside the WS_FTP Pro UI. If you drag any site profiles into the "Shared Sites" folder within WS_FTP, that's where it puts them.

When I copied my INI file over to another computer it when into documents and settings\my name\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP\sites
This is were it was on the old machine so when I put it there then all my sites with password I could access on the new machine. I put the ws_ftp.ini there.
Hope this helps

Hi,

I mean just copy old INI file to the directory
where the new version of WS_FTP is installed.

But I did not checked if that help.
It is my guess supported by many years
of playing and struggling with software.

Try to copy old INI file to new directory.

Do you mean copy it and install again? Or just copy it there?

Actually I checked and it is in the directory where I installed.
