On second thought, this may not be the case.

I was misled by what I saw from the view source because all I could see is the
homepage's markups.

The framework says:
The basic workflow with page loading is as follows: first, a page is requested
with a normal HTTP request, and subsequent "pages" are then requested and
injected into that page's DOM.

Suppose search engine bots don't rely on javascript, a site using the framework
is still searchable. My test shows that I can access any part of the site from
an external link, and that page will be treated as first normal HTTP request;
with Javascript switches off, I can browser the site just like normal desktop
site which doesn't rely on javascript.

Anyone who has more knowledge on search engines can confirm this? Thanks!

I think it comes down to this: know what your (or your client) targeted
audiences are, and pick the best possible approach that works for your
industry. Sites that wants to reach out to mobile web audiences, do not abandon
the desktop version, so strictly speaking there is an alternative for
non-smartphone devices. And quite honestly speaking, a site that sells luxury
goods likely do not have customers using old mobile devices and W2K, and a site
that sells 0.99 goods likely have more oldest mobile devices and IE6 users.
