I have been running wsjtx r3680 under Fedora 20 for a bout a day now.
I have had issued with other apps messing with the sound card's aux gain
setting, requiring me to reset with the mixer app. I have been a small amount og band changing and QSOs. In addition to wxjtx set to poll the 756pro 1/sec
I have HRD rotator and Lady Heather (under Wine) each talking to their
devices 1/sec. Wsjtx has not abended during this time.

I ran wsjtx 3680 for a few hours and it did not exit by itself.

I then noticed the transmit audio was gone.
This appears to be caused by the Nvidia graphics driver.

Sooo... I reinstalled Heisenbug this time WITHOUT the Nvidia driver.
At first I was having problems with the serial port until I realized
I had not uninstalled Fedora's ModemManager. ModemManager
is an undocumented fascist bagbiter that assumes serial ports are
connected to - you guessed - modems. How quaint. I uninstalled ModemManager and wsjtx is happier. Other Linux distros may have a similar port minder
which can throw a spanner in the works. Dialup modems are so yesterday.

I plan on leaving wsjtx running as much as possible (modulo Super Bowl)
for the next day or so.

Hi Uli,

Many thanks for your report. We are well aware that some CAT control issues remain in WSJT-X v1.3. They can be traced to the hamlib library functions for certain rigs, and we are working to get them fixed. The next release of WSJT-X will have some major changes in the rig-control code.

In the meantime, you will need to run with the polling interval set to 0.

I did again some tests with WSJT-X V1.3r3673. The problem I had with cat control in older versions is still present. When polling interval is not
set to zero then sometimes WSJT-X terminates without any notice. This
happens often a short time after I change the frequency (in WSJTX or at
the rig). When polling interval is set to zero there is no problem. My
system is Windows 7 64bit and the rig is a FT-847 (cat rate set to 57600).
