As documented in the User Guide:

http://www.physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main.html#FAQ

the FAQ item number 6 should help you out with this issue.

We are currently shipping the User Guide as part of the package. There
are two actions on the WSJT-X "Help" menu, one for the latest version of
the guide via the web and another to open the bundled version locally
which is the User Guide as at the time the package was built.

Yes, that is a defect. We should use libqt5multimedia5-plugins as the
leaf package that drags in all the required Qt components and
dependencies that WSJT-X requires.

The v1.4.0-rc2 Beta release used a quick and simple package generation
option in the CMake build system. This needs refinement but we (Greg
KI7MT mainly) are also implementing a comprehensive package generation
for Debian which will be suitable for inclusion in the official
repositories.

The libfortran3:i386 requirement on 64-bit systems is not actually a
requirement of WSJT-X but of kvasd, we are stripping kvasd out of the
Debian package due to it not being FOSS and making it a user specified
add on which be hosted separately from the WSJT-X package. We will
ensure that the relevant prerequisite packages are either installed with
WSJT-X or as part of the add on component.

Thanks for your valuable observations and suggestions.
