The Koetter-Vardy Algebraic Soft-Decision algorithm is for decoding
Reed-Solomon codes. Of all the WSJT-related modes (FSK441, JTMS, ISCAT,
JT6M, JT4, JT9, JT65, WSPR), only JT65 uses a Reed-SOlomon code.
Modes JT4, JT9, and WSPR also use strong FEC (forward error correction),
but they use a convolutional code for which an open-source soft-decision
decoder is provided.
Program kvasd would be of no use whatever for JT4, JT9, or WSPR.
