Scott, another solution is to use both CAT ports of the TS-590S/SG.
The TS-590 has two ports : USB and RS-232.
It has the ability (unique in the market as far as I know) to handle CAT 
traffic on both ports simultaneously.
Many operators use the USB port to control the transceiver from a computer and 
connect the RS-232 port to a decoder to do band changing on antennas selectors.

Of course, sending contradicting commands at the same time can damage the rig, 
so be careful with this.
