The CMake settings and Makefiles are all contained within the build 
tree. If your build tree is a sub-directory of your source tree then you 
could move it aside while you refresh the source tree.

I would recommend keeping a note of the CMake configure command you used 
to create a build tree, also a copy of the latest CMakeCache.txt file 
from the root of your build tree. These two pieces of information are 
all you need to quickly recreate the build tree from scratch.
