When is a dB not a dB?

The calibration of signal strengths in my recently written "jt65sim" is 
probably not exactly the same as that in "SimJT", which we used before. 
  All the measurements here were based on files produced by jt65sim.

Probably we should establish a standard, and stick to it.  But of course 
what really matters is comparisons on the *same* data.
