welcome to the group! How are you delivering audio from your SDR to WSJT-X. I ask because most SDR implementations that deliver conventional audio streams also emulated a CAT serial port, usually with some sort of Kenwood emulation. WSJT-X does try to run with minimal CAT features available and I did make a change to the development branch a few days back (r6202) that allows it to proceed without a working mode query command.
