Hi Guy,

you have it the wrong way around. The official release of Hamlib until
recently has many issues that preclude its use with WSJT-X, we have been
using a fork of the Hamlib 3 source code with WSJT-X since v1.3. The
impact of using the wrong Hamlib library is dependent on the radio and
how you interface it to your computer, many rigs simply do not work with
the v2 Hamlib release, others work but not reliably or efficiently, some
work with Hamlib 2 and our Hamlib 3 fork.

The Hamlib team have recently released v3 but it is not yet available on
all distributions of the platforms we support. We expect the v3.1
official release of Hamlib to include all our patches sent upstream to
them at which point the official Hamlib 3 release will be suitable for
use with WSJT-X.
