These things will certainly be done, although not necessarily in time
for the next alpha release. Ftol and handling large Doppler spreads are
inter-related.
Only submode A of QRA64 has been optimized and thoroughly tested, as
yet. As far as I'm aware, Ftol works as expected in QRA64A.

One possibility will be to make the sync-tone spacings wider *only* for
submodes B-E. Doing it this way would have the advantage of not
breaking QRA64A as it is now used.
