What are the names of the audio devices you see in the 
Preferences->Audio->Soundcard Input and Output combo boxes?
Maybe the problem is related to the naming of these devices - for example it 
might accidentially switch to the first device in the list, and depending on 
the name (they are sorted alphabetically) you end up with the correct one,
and on other machines the wrong one is selected.
My audio device (which is provided by the driver for the USB connected IC7300 
and RS590S) is „USB Audio CODEC“, which is alphabetically below „Build-In 
Output“ etc.

In case this is related to the alphabetical order, there would be at least a 
simple workaround by creating a new audio device in the Audio-MIDI-Setup 
application and naming it like „AAA“ to put it first alphabetically…. I will 
try this today in the evening.
