Hi

I created a new Audio Device in the "Audio MIDI Setup“ Application (comes with 
OS X), and named it so that it is alphabetically the first Audio Device 
(something like „AAA…“);
I added just the "USB Audio CODEC“ to it. So it is basically a reference to the 
"USB Audio CODEC“ device.

Then I configured WSJT-X to use this device as Input and Output, and since then 
no issues any more with lost input and output!

So this looks like a workaround, and/or a starting point for tracing down the 
problem.
