So do you need me to do some of this or are you going to finish it?

I'm a little fuzzy on what the compound calls are.  Are those the ones with 
suffix/prefix not in the lookup tables so they end up not getting compressed?
I knew there was more to that DE problem then the kludge I put in there....

 HI Mike, that looks somewhat better now. I note you deleted the test cases for 
type 2 prefix compound calls, they seem to work ok but should still be in the 
jt65code test set. I don't think you have the handling of type 1 prefixes and 
suffixes in a "DE ..." message right yet. I think this patch deals with them 
correctly.

 I believe the above combined with the extra checks for free text forms you 
have in your last patch plus adding back in some type 2 prefix compound call 
test examples will get us to the right place.
