Hi Tom,
there are different but related issues when using DX Lab Suite
Commander. Dave, AA6YQ, has an as yet unreleased version of Commander
that reduces a number of unnecessary waits or duplicate commands when
talking to the Elecraft K3 series rigs. I'm sure he will provide a
version for testing if you contact him.
Aside from that, setting the Commander command interval as low as
possible will help some. Having WSJT-X not manage the rig's mode will
also help. Having WSJT-X not use split mode on the rig will resolve the
issue but that has several cons which probably make it unworkable.
For now I would recommend closing Commander when using WSJT-X and using
a direct Hamlib connection if you intend to use FT8 mode.
