Steve, K0AN, has tightened the time synchronization requirements for the FT8 decoder. The change seemed sensible given the shorter T/R period, higher proportion of the T/R period that is message, and faster code rate. Having a smaller sync detection tine interval makes the decoder either faster or able to look a bit harder for a signal to try and decode.

If you are build from sources and intending to use WSJT-X on air, it is essential to track the change history to understand what you might be running. This particularly true at the moment if you build the development branch rather than the v1.8 branch.
