Since the distance is written on the screen and the value beeing somewhere
in the code, my wish was, to append that number plus 'km' or 'mi' to the
comment field of the log. Right now, I type it myself at the end of a QSO...

Hi Wolfgang,

this sounds like an opportunity for a simple application that converts ADIF records plus a home grid square into lines as map coordinates. Then QSOs could be plotted on a map. I suspect such an application already exists, maybe something in the Google Earth API perhaps.
