Good afternoon Bill,
Monitor off at startup is NOT checked.
Monitor returns to last used frequency is NOT checked.
Checking Monitor returns to last used frequency for each configuration
does recall the last frequency used, however it does not recall the
default frequency for the operating mode selected.
Having the default frequency for each mode when changing configurations
puts the application in a constant, known configuration ... which is
what I understand is the purpose of having different configurations
available. I can certainly make the necessary changes to the default
configuration when changing modes (as happens during mixed propagation
events on 6 meters), but wanted to give the configurations option a good
test. As the GUI is (from what I've read and observed) being restarted,
one would assume the same behavior from the GUI with regard to the
correct frequency selection per mode would be identical from a cold
start vs a configuration change.
Again, this is not a complaint, just an observation of the application
that does not appear to be consistent.
For the development team, thanks for all your hard work. I certainly
appreciate the challenges involved with WSJT-X.
An odd side note, r8040 no longer responds as I previously described. I
did not reboot the computer after installing r8040 over r8070 ... so I'm
not sure what is going on.

Rick

Hi Rick,
which of the options "Settings->General->Monitor off at startup" and
"Settings->General->Monitor returns to last used frequency" do you have
checked? These control what happens at startup which is what effectively
happens when you switch to a new configuration. Obviously the settings
in the configuration switched to are the pertinent ones.
Note that there is a trade off here, either WSJT-X takes control and
sets the frequency of your rig on startup or it remains passive and
waits for you to select a band or mode. You have control of this
behaviour with the above options.
