Hi Joe Many thanks for your response.
The issue I am finding is setting the TX frequency for when I am calling CQ and for when I am chasing a DX station. Quite often, I have to change frequencies due to other stations calling over the top of me on a busy band. I am only permitted 10w so often not easily seen on the waterfall so getting "trampled on" is quite common. I totally understand the reason for the change but it has also made operation more complicated. I have suggested elsewhere to have an option to LOCK or HOLD which will both address the accessibility issue and satisfy those who prefer the HOLD function. I am grateful for your consideration in this matter. Again, thank you for such a great application and mode. I have achieved a great deal more than I could have ever expected using other digital modes Regards Dave M6RUG -----Original Message----- From: Joe Taylor [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 17 October 2017 22:24 To: WSJT software development <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT 1.8.0 RC3 Hi Chris and Dave, On 10/17/2017 4:19 PM, Chris Getman wrote: > Hi Joe. > > Keep up the great work, FT8 is just incredible, I use it almost every > afternoon on 20m & 17m. > > I have read the release notes and I guess it is just different. > Now it takes two hands to change both frequencies at once. But it doesn't take two hands! The most common need to call someone on his frequency is to respond to a CQ. Double-clicking on the decoded CQ message does what you want and takes only one finger. > The old way with one click I could move freq and call CQ. Yes, if you're going to select a frequency on which to call CQ you must use SHIFT+click of CTRL+click on the waterfall, or use the main screen TxFreq control. These things have been discussed, at length, on this reflector. The procedure adopted for RC3 was by far the most popular. No doubt there are "Accessibility" issues in WSJT-X that can use attention. Dave has drawn attention to one of them. I hope we will find time to address some of these issues before long. -- Joe, K1JT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
