My procedure with the .adi file is that I rename it every day by adding the date to it, e.g. wsjtx_log12-2-2017 will be today's file's name. I then save it. I began that when I started working JT65 in Sept. 2015 and kept doing it when I started working FT8 in Oct. this year.
That makes it easy to upload to LoTW as I just upload the entire file every day. Ditto when uploading into eQSL and importing to my HRD log. I keep my QRZ log in sync with the other logs by simply downloading my LoTW log to it. It also makes it easy to check the files for any QSO I hadn't logged when I get QSLs in my inbox on eQSL that I have no QSL in my outbox for. However, for those, the .adi files don't help. I also rename the ALL.TXT file every month at the end of the month and save them. That lets me easily check those files for the QSO in question. Once in a while, it is a case where I failed to log the QSO, hardly happens now when I have the option to prompt me to log a QSO turned on. It often turns out that the QSO in question was never completed, so I can delete the request on eQSL. Quite often I find an eQSL request ends up being a situation where I called a station, or a station answered my QSO, and I sent the other station's report several times, but never decoded an acknowledgement. Of course, when I rename the .adi file or the ALL.TXT file, new ones are automatically created the next time I start up wsjt-x (ALL.TXT) and log my first QSO of the day (.adi). This procedure has come in handy as I've had eQSL requests from contacts in 2016 and 2015, so I can easily go to the respective files to check them out. YMMV. 73, John, WB9VGJ -- John L. Hi, Is there a limit to the dimension of wsjtx_log.adi ? Mine is now 508.8 KB. This morning I made a lot of QSOs but only the first 2 have been logged... Th others are not there ...many OM will hate me. 73 Pino ZP4KFX ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel --- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. http://www.avg.com
